While I know a few are unhappy with OT posts and the joking and laughter that has been going on here lately, I like to think that there is a good balance or at least we could strive to make a better balance. Being in recovery doesn't mean we all suddenly get deadly serious (although it's a deadly serious situation) and have no fun. If anything, I've learned how to laugh and be light and fun again here....some have taught me to do that better than others. So, with that said, I wanted to share some pictures of my grandson. He was with us this past weekend and I'm missing him terribly tonight. My son too.
He is absolutely adorable. I can tell your so proud.
I have never had a problem with off topic threads, nor will I ever. The day I came here there were plenty of off topic threads, but it didn't stop people from coming to help me. Thats all that matters really.
My poor son was sick the whole time they were here so his picture isn't really a good one. He's so much better looking. I'm not prejudice or anything...really, I'm not!!! lol
I agree Michelle, I think that if newcomers need help, we would all be there in a heart beat. I know I would be. In fact I used to be made fun of because I would talk to every new comer...duh. lol I don't care though, that's what our main purpose is here, the rest is just a bonus. Especially some of the relationships we have.
But, there still needs to be a balance...too much of one or the other and this board could go down in flames.
He's a looker, Lisa. (Both your grandson and your son.) LOL
That's a good picture of you. You look healthy. Just wait until the new grandbaby gets here. You'll be a picture posting fool. LOL, but that's okay. You're allowed.
Thanks for asking about me on the other thread. It's been a rough month for all of us. I'm about ready to do a peter pan off of the Tennessee river bridge. LOL, but hopefully everyone will get better over the weekend.
I feel better than I look..lol But thanks. I'm so sorry that you're family has been so sick Denae...it went through all of us like wild fire. It's horrible stuff for adults, I can't even imagine having to do it with kids. Poor baby, please don't jump.
I dont think anyone objects to some fun here - surely all work and no play would make this a truly boring place - I think its more so the mean spiritedness of some of the "fun" that needs to be considered. Pics of babies are always fitting here though - they bring smiles and smiles are always necessary for recovery!
Yes, those kissed landed on the top of his head and behind the ears...he giggles...there is nothing better than a giggling child. My other two are just as good looking. They all get it from their dad...lol
Lisa OT or not I feel our familise are PART a MAJOR part of our recovery & our lives therefor sharing that part of your life here I feel is a part of our recovery Beautiful grandson,by the way....ALMOST(notice I say ALMOST)wants me want another! Thank you for sharing a private side of your life molly
edited to also say congratuations...I kinda look forward to being a gramma...YEARS FROM NOW(I HOPE) Have a good night molly
Too cute. Is that a power ranger I seen in his hand we are all about power rangers. I have been all over e-bay tring to buy as many used dvd's as I can. You look to young to be a grandma hee hee. He really is beautiful Roxy
Oh Lisa, your grandson is one handsome little man...Please don't stop sharing your pictures with us. And I must say, you are beautiful too. Have a great weekend girl...
How very cute Lisa! Your dog seems to think he's from another planet. I miss the little ones at times. I wouldn't want to raise another, but I do love spending time with them and hearing their unique perspective on the world. Can't wait to see the baby pics. Love, Beck
The dog was a tad freaked...she's never been around little kids in large doses. They played really well though....Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Means alot...as most of you know, my kids and grandkids are the joy in my life.
What a cutie, Lisa. Kyler still has his baby hands. Ever notice that? I love little hands before their knuckles start to show much and they have that precious pudgy look. His hair looks like it might be curly if longer, is it? I loved Bryan's curls when he was little. Now you'd never know he has curly hair, he keeps it so short. Jason gets better looking everytime I see him. You're looking pretty good too, Turd. >grin< xxxxxooooooo
I agree with what Donnatwo said "I dont think anyone objects to some fun here -surely all work and no play would make this a truly boring place - I think its more so the mean spiritedness of some of the "fun" that needs to be considered.
I have been guilty of being involved in mean spiritedness as well. I don't know of any oldtimer's here that haven't. Well except Poopie she loves everyone:-0)
Having said that I love pic's and after all we all participate in LIFE. To much of anything isn't a good thing, there must be balance..I agree with that!
I have been known to start a few picture threads on this board and enjoy seeing them. What woman do you know that doesn't like seeing pictures? I take my camera everywhere I go and people turn their heads when they see me coming.
I think your son and grand-son are both cutie pies. You are very blessed. It looks like you guys had a nice visit and you look really good after all you've been through this year!!
Thank you Rae. I agree, it is the mean spiritness that isn't necessary, but like you said, we've all been guilty of it....I wonder if that has to do with addictive behavoir or if it's just a "woman" thing? You noticed that most of the guys are never involved, well, there is the occasional exception but they aren't much of a man to begin with. Damn, there I go, being mean spirited, crap. Anyway...I think maybe this would be a great time for all of us to start being nicer, more involved in recovery and sharing our lives here on this board.
He does have curly hair Kat! How did you know? They shaved his head before they came down...I could of killed them, I mean, that's what I do, is cut hair for crying out loud. And yes, those pudgy little knuckles..lol. They are so great for kisses. XXXOOO
